Description
I-pill (Levonorgestrel tablet) is an emergency oral contraceptive tablet which is taken to reduce the chances of becoming pregnant after unprotected sex or failure of a contraceptive method. I-pill emergency contraceptive is manufactured by Piramal Healthcare in the strengths of 1.5 mg. Generic Levonelle should only be used in emergencies and not as a regular method of contraception. For a regular method of contraception you can use Generic Alesse (Ovral-L Contraceptive Tablets) which is also available in our online pharmacy.
How To Take
The dosage of I-pill (Levonorgestrel Tablet) is one tablet to be taken as soon as possible after unprotected sex, preferably within 12 hours and no later than 72 hours after unprotected sex. Generic Levonorgestrel tablet can be taken either with or without food. Take the i-pill with a glass of water as soon as possible, preferably within 12 hours and not later than 72 hours after unprotected sex. Only take 1 pill. The sooner you take this medicine the more effective it is. It considerably decreases your chances of getting pregnant when taken within 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure.
Precaution
Generic Levonelle (i-pill) can be used more than once in a month but it is not recommended to be used as regular birth control. It is ineffective if you are already pregnant. It does not offer protection against AIDS/ HIV or any other sexual transmitted diseases. Generic Levonelle is not recommended for young women under 16 years of age without medical supervision. If pregnancy occurs after treatment with Generic Levonelle , the possibility of an ectopic pregnancy should be considered. Common I-pill side effects include Fatigue, Flu syndrome, Abdominal pain, Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhoea, Dizziness, Headache, Breast tenderness, Increased bleeding and Vaginal haemorrhage. This medicine has no long term or serious side effects, and it is safe to use for almost every woman. You might also experience lower abdominal pain or find your breasts more tender than usual. All this should stop within a day or two. There are chances of unexpected vaginal bleeding but this is not dangerous and should clear up by the time you have your next period. You next period may come earlier or later than usual after taking this medicine.
